Dear Madam,

This is about books used for curriculum at Indirapuram Public school, Crossing republic, Ghaziabad.

This email is to request you for using NCERT books for session 2018-19. CBSE also issued many circular in given context.

We parents earlier approached you in April 2017 for using NCERT books, for teaching in schools. Where you informed us that private publisher books are already ordered for session 2017-18, so private publisher books to be used for 2017-18. From next session 2018-19, NCERT books can be used for teaching in school.

For NCERT books, CBSE and HRD ministry given circular time to time.

There are many circulars issued by CBSE on NCERT Books. One of Latest circular from CBSE is CBSE/AFF/CIRCULAR/16a/2017/1335026 dated 18th Dec 2017. Circular is also being attached here for reference.. Key Points of circular are:

The schools can open small outlets for supply of only NCERT books and shall not sell books of any other publishers…. …. It may be noted that selling books other than NCERT books in these shops , will be considered a violation of this circular, and will attract action against the school.
The NCERT, in order to augment the availability of NCERT books for the students of CBSE affiliated schools, has called for indent through their website for purchase of books as per requirement assessed by the schools.
The CBSE … has directed the schools not to force children and their parents to buy textbooks other than NCERT/CBSE textbooks.

Using NCERT Books have many other benefits as well like:

Light Weight comparing to books sold of private publisher. Less weight puts less load on shoulders of small children.
Environment Friendly, Many trees are cut for paper supply to print books. While private publisher books are not designed to reuse so its not Environment friendly, whereas NCERT books are reusable.
Low cost of NCERT Books comparing books of private publishers.
